We use nylon and glass fiber for the mixing head, so that the whole potato masher is resistant to high temperatures (up to 450?). The handle is made from nylon, all parts are BPA free. It easily break up hamburger meat, ground meat or turkey for tacos, spaghetti sauce, burritos and anything with ground meat. Mash boiled egg for egg salad. Smashing potato, pumpkin and any other steamed veggies to puree. Crush tomato, strawberries and any other soft fruit to sauce.
