Pullover, Zip or Crewneck

A pullover hoodie has the largest uninterrupted print area and is the best seller for teams, schools and merch. A full-zip hoodie splits the front, so the logo usually goes left chest or on the back, and it works well as a staff layer that goes on and off during the day. A quarter-zip pullover is the dressier option for offices and client gifts. A crewneck sweatshirt has no hood and prints like a heavy t-shirt, which keeps the cost down.

Fleece Weights

Fleece is measured in ounces per square yard. A midweight 7.5 to 8 oz fleece, such as the Gildan Heavy Blend, is the everyday standard and the best value for a bulk order. Heavyweight fleece at 9 oz and above feels substantial and suits retail-quality merch. Lightweight French terry and tech fleece are for spring and fall and for performance styles from Under Armour and Adidas that wick sweat. Sherpa-lined and thermal hoodies are for crews working outside in winter. These are the usual custom work sweatshirts for outdoor crews. Printing and Embroidery

Screen printing is the usual choice for a large front or back design and keeps the fleece soft. Full-color artwork prints well by direct-to-garment on cotton-rich fleece. Keep the design off the kangaroo pocket seam and the zipper line. Sizes and Fit

Unisex hoodies run roomy, and most people size as they would for a t-shirt. Women's cuts are shorter and more fitted, and youth sizes cover schools and camps. Oversized and relaxed fits are the current retail look. A safe split for an adult order without collected sizes is one small, two medium, two large, one extra large and one 2XL per seven pieces.
