Product Description
The Great Star flag flew over the Capitol dome for at least six months of 1818. Designed by Captain Samuel Chester Reid of the U.S. Navy, Congress adopted both his 13 stripes idea and the idea to add a star for each future state. This 3' x 5' historical flag is made from heavy-duty 200 denier nylon and features a canvas header and two brass grommets. Ideal for both indoor and outdoor use, each flag is formulated to withstand the wear and tear it will sustain. The design is printed with UV protected inks and will beautifully fly for many seasons to come!
