35 Corporate Gift Ideas for Clients, Partners and Coworkers (2026)

Updated November 2, 2026 · 10 min read

A good corporate gift gets used every week and quietly reminds a client, partner or colleague who sent it. A forgettable one goes in a drawer. The difference is usually quality and fit, not price.

This guide focuses on gifts for clients, business partners and executives: 35 numbered ideas, gifts by budget and occasion, and the tax and policy rules to check before you send anything. Shopping for your own team? See our employee appreciation gift guide.

What Works

What Makes a Corporate Gift Actually Memorable?

Memorable gifts share three qualities: quality, personalization and everyday practicality. When a client grabs your tumbler before every meeting or packs your backpack for a business trip, the gift keeps working long after the thank-you note.

Forgettable gifts put the logo first. Memorable ones flip that: the product earns its place, and the branding is small enough that people are happy to use it in public.

Rules

Tax and Gift Policy Rules to Check Before You Send

Two sets of rules apply to client gifts: what your business can deduct, and what the recipient is allowed to accept. This is general information, not tax advice.

The IRS $25 Business Gift Limit

According to IRS Publication 463, you can deduct no more than $25 for business gifts given directly or indirectly to each person during your tax year. Incidental costs such as engraving, packaging, insuring and mailing are generally not counted toward the $25. Items costing $4 or less that have your name clearly and permanently imprinted and that you hand out widely, such as pens, are not treated as gifts for this limit. Gifts to your own employees follow different rules; our employee gift guide covers them.

Recipient Gift Policies

Many organizations cap what their staff can accept. Federal employees, for example, may generally accept unsolicited gifts worth $20 or less per source per occasion, up to $50 a year from one source, under 5 CFR 2635.204, and many state agencies, healthcare organizations and financial firms have their own limits. When in doubt, ask your contact what they can accept, or send something low-value and useful with a handwritten note.

Alcohol and Food

Some companies do not allow alcohol gifts, and some recipients do not drink. For a cocktail maker or a wine tumbler, include a mocktail option or confirm first. For food gifts, list allergens and avoid shipping chocolate in hot weather.

Decoration

Logo Customization Options That Make Your Brand Shine

  • Laser engraving: sleek and permanent on metal drinkware and tech
  • Embroidery: classic and durable on sweatshirts, quarter-zips and caps
  • Screen printing: bold color on apparel and tote bags
  • Full-color imprint: photo-quality art on drinkware, tech and blankets
  • Debossing: subtle and sophisticated on notebooks, padfolios and leather goods

Frequently asked questions

How much can a business deduct for client gifts?

Under IRS Publication 463, no more than $25 per recipient per tax year. Engraving, packaging, insurance and shipping generally do not count toward the $25, and widely distributed items costing $4 or less with your name permanently imprinted are not treated as gifts for the limit. You can still spend more per gift; only the deduction is capped.

How much should I spend on a client gift?

Scale it to the relationship and the recipient’s rules. A useful item in the $25 to $50 range suits most clients; reserve $100+ gifts for your largest accounts and milestone moments. Check whether the recipient works somewhere with a gift cap before going high.

Can government employees accept corporate gifts?

Usually only small ones. Federal employees may generally accept unsolicited gifts worth $20 or less per source per occasion, capped at $50 a year from one source (5 CFR 2635.204), and state and local agencies set their own rules. Ask your contact, or send a low-value branded item with a note.

When is the best time to send corporate gifts?

Outside the December rush is often more memorable: a contract anniversary, the end of a big project, or right after a referral. If you do send holiday gifts, order early so production and shipping are not squeezed by peak season.

Should the logo be big or small on a client gift?

Small. A client gift is about the relationship, so a tonal logo, a debossed mark or branding on the packaging reads as considered. The less a gift looks like an ad, the more often it gets used in public.
