Vest Classes

Class 2 vests are the standard for workers near traffic under 50 miles per hour and for most construction and event roles, with a set amount of fluorescent fabric and reflective tape. Most custom construction safety vests are class 2. Class 3 vests add sleeves and more reflective material for highway and night work. Non-rated vests in orange or lime suit volunteers, parking staff and school crossings where a rating is not required. Breakaway vests pull apart if caught and suit warehouse and machinery work.

Mesh vests are cooler in summer, and solid polyester vests are warmer and hold a print better. Zipper fronts last longer than hook and loop.
